Print FAQ
WILL MY PRINT BE A LIMITED EDITION?
All prints are hand finished in studio by me with precious metal leaf making each one a unique piece of artwork. As such they all an edition of one #owntheonlyone
WILL MY PRINT BE SIGNED?
Yes, I sign, title and emboss all prints in the studio before posting, wrapping or framing.
WHAT DOES HAND FINISHING MEAN?
I hand finish my prints by gilding areas of them with precious metal leaf - you can request a certain metal by contacting through the contact form on the website.
The gilded area will be delicate, so try to avoid touching it with your fingers.
HOW ABOUT MOUNTING?
My wonderful independent framer will mount your print using archival quality acid free mount board. He has access to all the colours you could want, so if you’re looking for something specific to go with your interior style contact me and I can give you some options.
My favourite boards to mount work with are black with a black core, white with a black core, or off white with a black core.
The largest diameter a circular mount can have is 40cm (at the moment!)
HOW ABOUT FRAMING?
I highly recommend getting your print framed unglazed so as to show off the subtle inky depths and ever changing reflective qualities of the gilding. However, glass can be put into your frame if you’d so like, including non-reflective glass.
I employ an amazing independent framer, who will go to most lengths to find you the perfect molding. There are a plethora available… If you’d like to discuss options and suggestions please contact me.
HOW ABOUT PRINTING?
All my printing is undertaken by Iris Print, an award winning local family run business. They print using archival inks on 280gsm heavyweight Fine Art paper. The detail and texture achieved is quite something!
CAN I BUY A PRINT SMALLER OR LARGER THAN THE ONES IN YOUR PRINT SHOP?
Yes! All prints can be custom sized to suit your space and due to the quality of the original files, if you want a really really big one, you can :) Just drop me an email.
POSTAGE…
All prints will be posted carefully packaged and rolled in a tube, (unless you specify that you want them posted out flat). They will need flattening before you frame them. I suggest using something soft such as bean bags to hold down the corners and edges for at least 12 hours. Be careful to avoid marking the paper and make sure you’ve got clean hands before handling - or just let a framer deal with it all!
Postage costs for rolled unmounted prints posted to an address within the UK are included in the sale price. I use Royal Mail Tracked service at the moment. Flat packages will cost more. Contact me to arrange.
LICENSING ARTWORK.
This can be done on a project by project basis, drop me an email with your enquiry.I have experience of working with all sizes of businesses internationally. Take a look at my CV to see the different projects I have been involved in.
